No to the popular initiative to ban animal and human studies

21.01.2022 - The voting on the popular initiative that wants to ban all animal and human research in Switzerland as well as new therapies resulting from such research will be on 13 February 2022. The SCTO has taken its position and recommends a clear „no“. Please see their position statement here.

In this respect, the grassroots think tank "Reatch" has issued a call for researchers to speak out directly against the initiative.

"Reatch" is looking for scientists in the field of biomedical research (or related fields and professions) who are willing to talk about their research on social media and offers free science communication workshops in German and English. https://reatch.ch/events/kommunikationsworkshop-zu-forschung-mit-tieren-und-menschen

Another campaign under the lead of economiesuisse is looking for statements from researchers on their dedicated supporter section (DE, FR, IT): https://www.tierversuchsverbot-nein.ch/mitmachen
